Commercial Polished Concrete
— Grade & Specification
Commercial polished concrete demands more than a domestic installation. Higher footfall, tighter programmes, phased access, specification documents, fire ratings and contractor coordination — we have 15 years of experience across all of it.
We work directly with architects, interior designers, main contractors and fit-out specialists to deliver commercial polished concrete floors that meet the brief, comply with the specification and survive the rigours of a busy commercial environment — from flagship retail to industrial warehousing, UK-wide.

Yes. We can provide specification clauses in NBS format covering substrate preparation, concrete mix design, grinding sequence, finish level, sealer system and aftercare requirements. We're happy to liaise directly with your NBS consultant or specification writer. Contact us with your project brief and we'll provide draft clauses for review.
Yes. All our operatives hold relevant CSCS cards. We carry £5m public liability insurance and £2m employers' liability insurance. Full RAMS, method statements, COSHH assessments and toolbox talk records are maintained and available to main contractors on request. We're comfortable with site inductions, permit-to-work systems and contractor management platforms.
Yes. For retail, hospitality and healthcare projects where daytime access isn't possible, we regularly work evenings, nights and weekends. Out-of-hours working is agreed as part of the programme and priced accordingly. We have extensive experience in live trading environments and understand the operational constraints involved.
Our standard sealed polished concrete achieves R9 slip resistance (suitable for dry commercial areas). For wet areas, commercial kitchens and external covered areas, we can apply aggregate broadcast coatings to achieve R10, R11 or R12 ratings as specified. We provide test certificates for all anti-slip applications and can arrange independent third-party slip testing if required by the specification.
We typically require 2–4 weeks notice from order to mobilisation for commercial projects, depending on our current programme. For projects requiring a concrete pour (rather than overlay), we build in the 28-day cure period before grinding commences. Overlay and microcement systems can often be turned around in 5–10 working days from order. We're happy to discuss programme requirements early in the design process so we can reserve capacity.
